Texas Hotels

It's a big state, second only to Alaska, but folks here are mighty friendly. In fact, "Texas" is from a Native American word meaning "friends" and Wyndham's Texas hotels and resorts offer you a friendly place to see anyplace you're headed in the Lone Star State.

Austin is the state capital of Texas. It is the 4th-largest city and the 16th-largest in the United States. The pages of Texas history, fact and myth alike, unfold at the Texas State History Museum, while the legacy of a president lives on at the LBJ Presidential Library & Museum. The pink granite Texas State Capitol commands a stately presence in downtown and stands 14 feet taller than the nation's capital. A night on the town in the Live Music Capital of the World® naturally includes music at nearly 200 venues on any given evening. The largest concentration of venues is found downtown in the Warehouse District and along Sixth Street.

Dallas tops the list of Lone Star State visitor destinations. The Sixth Floor Museum and Dealey Plaza are national landmarks. Sports fans will find plenty of action with the Mavs, Stars, Rangers and Cowboys all at home here. Nearby Arlington bills itself as "fun-central," with Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor and more. Shopping and entertainment options are endless, including The Fort Worth Stockyards, Sundance Square, Deep Ellum and Lower Greenville.

Houston is Texas' largest city, annually attracting millions to NASA, the Space Center - and the world's largest stock show. The Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park kicks off spring, and the International Jazz Festival marks the height of summer. Houston's 13,000-seat theater district is second only to Broadway.

Galveston is one of the leading U.S. cruise ship ports, with 32 miles of Gulf Coast beaches. Stroll along the 13-mile Seawall, shop the Strand historic district and dine portside at Pier 21. Moody Gardens features the world's largest aquarium and the largest bat exhibit in the Southwest.

The ninth largest U.S. city, San Antonio is the cradle of Texas liberty. The Alamo is the state's most-visited tourist attraction. An enchanting River Walk runs through the heart of the city. SeaWorld® San Antonio, Six Flags® Fiesta Texas® theme park, and "El Mercado," a lively Mexican market, offer tons of family fun.
