The exhibit Year of Sound: Hollywood in the Amazon features a 1931 expeditionary film made by Academy award-winning cinematographer Floyd Crosby, hunter Sasha Siemel, Penn Museum anthropologist Vincenzo Petrullo and industrialist E.R. Fenimore. The film Matto Grosso, the Great Brazilian Wilderness was produced with live sound from the location of the filming. It is the first video and audio recording of Bororo people in their native territory. In addition to the Film, the exhibit also showcases several items from the Bororo culture.
