Playa del Carmen, Mexico has almost too many local activities to count. And even though we're an all-inclusive resort, everyone should take time to explore the lovely Yucatan Peninsula. We have great scuba diving in the area – plus, it's the ideal way to catch a glimpse of colorful fish along the Great Mayan Reef. The Yucatan is famous for its ancient Mayan ruins and they truly are a must see. So, make a point of visiting Tulum or Chichen Itza. The island of Cozumel is just 30 minutes by ferry and has more ruins and the lovely Punta Sur Light House. Then shop for local handicrafts and that special keepsake in downtown Playa del Carmen on 5th Avenue. Or check out Xel Ha Eco Park with its lagoon and underwater caves and grottos. The Yucatan is also the place to enjoy deep-sea fishing, play 18 holes of golf, or even encounter loggerhead sea turtles. You'll be happy to hear we're only 35 miles from the Cancun International Airport. Don't forget you must have a valid passport for international travel to Mexico.
