 The Knowledge Point: The HTC at 20 S. Cameron Street in downtown Winchester includes a Civil War orientation center, research library and Civil War art exhibition. An interactive touch screen kiosk helps visitors better understand the war's impact on Winchester and surrounding communities. "Civil War Through and Artist's Eye - An Exhibition by Mort Künstler," uses 47 framed Künstler prints to give visitors a view of the regional war experience. Open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia was an important battleground during the American Civil War-Stonewall Jackson's famous Valley Campaign, Lee's march to Gettysburg, and Sheridan's 1864 Shenandoah Campaign all took place here. Recognizing its special role, Congress designated the Valley a national heritage area to protect the historic sites that tell this story and to share that story with visitors.
