But if you prefer your pastimes more on the adrenaline-fueled side, go see the Dolphins, the Marlins, or the Hurricanes play at Sunlife Stadium. When the Miami Heat is playing, it's an experience you won't want to miss. For reel fun, check out The International Fishing Pier and Hillsboro Beach Marina. The kids will love Sugar Sand Park with its science themed water playground. Or head to Red Reef Park for snorkeling, fishing or a quiet picnic. Everyone will love a chance to see the more than 800 animals on a drive-thru safari. Points of Interest The first and largest butterfly park in the Western Hemisphere, it houses nearly 3,000 butterflies. See butterflies, hummingbirds, lorikeets and more. Explore the outdoor facility that includes large tanks for fish, turtles, and other sea life, a plank trail through the adjacent woods with an observation tower. Inside there is a museum, fish tank, and a gift shop. It's wild inside. This is Florida's only drive-thru safari and it features more than 800 animals for you and your family to see. Morikami Japanese Gardens & Museum Wander along a mile-long path that leads through six different Japanese gardens, representing six periods of Japanese garden design between the eighth and 20th centuries. Then visit the Garden of the Drops of Dew, the Bonsai Garden, two museum buildings, and more. Enjoy an outdoor science themed water playground, baseball fields, basketball courts, inline hockey court, picnic area, and more. Shopping It's a true marketplace that captures the best in shopping from around the world. Browse through over 500 shops, restaurants, fragrance outlets, cosmetic stores, shoe stores, clothing shops, jewelry stores, home furnishing stores and gift boutiques. It's the home to tons of upscale shopping establishments, movie theaters, and great places to eat. This huge shopping complex is the 6th largest mall in the United States and it boasts more than 300 stores spread over 2.3 million square feet of shopping space. Town Center at Boca Raton features approximately 220 specialty stores, and to make things easy there is even valet parking. Sports & Amusement This is the home of the world-famous Miami Heat, but you can enjoy all the excitement in air-conditioned comfort. Here you can watch the one and only Florida Panthers hit the ice or check the Center's schedule to see what world-class concerts are coming to the area. This 18-hole Championship golf course was designed by Arthur Hills. The course now features TifEagle greens and is noted for its consistently fast and smooth putting surfaces. This is a full-service tennis facility at reasonable prices. It boasts six tennis courts with lights, a service pro shop, professional racket restringing and complete tennis instruction program for all ages and abilities. Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino The casino is open 365 days a year and has two floors of gaming. Its track is one of the most important horseracing venues in America. Hillsboro Beach Marina See Concierge for arrangements. With ten charter fishing boats and two drift boats, it's the place to start a high seas adventure. It's home to 1,500 slots, 38 poker tables, and racing amenities including a high-tech sports bar and wagering area overlooking the track. What's more, it boasts the only licensed harness racing track in all of Florida. This 900-foot pier is the place for boatless fishing, and it's even lit for night fishing. Naturally they have equipment, bait, and great views. Take an airboat tour and see all the wonders of nature in their natural state. You'll glide over a "river of grass" and spot a few alligators along the way. This 430-acre park is the place to enjoy Ski Rixen, their cable water skiing facility. It also boasts a skate park, children's water park, beach and water park. Relax in this 67-acre ocean-front park with its lovely beaches. It's a great place to snorkel, surf, fish, swim, or have a picnic. This venue features over 1,500 Vegas-style and bingo-style slot machines with lots of popular favorites.
