Built in 1911 this is the only historic hotel in Galveston standing on its original site. Step into one of our 224 guestrooms and you'll understand why this property was dubbed the Queen of the Gulf nearly 100 years ago. You'll be welcomed by so much more than period beauty; you'll find pillow top mattresses and 100% cotton bedding. Every hotel room offers either an island or ocean view. Scalloped sinks, full-length mirrors and marble surfaces tell you no detail was overlooked during our restoration process. It's nice to know we're a 100% smoke-free property.
