Viva Wyndham Resorts invites guests to explore the rich landscapes of the Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Mexico through its diversified off-property Excursions Program offered at all Viva Wyndham Resorts properties.

Each resort maintains an on-property tour desk where guests can sign-up for an assortment of off-property excursion programs. Although not included in the all-inclusive plan, off-property outings are encouraged so that guests can experience the countries where a Viva Wyndham Resorts property is situated.

Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada Excursions

Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada is located on the northern coast of the island in the Playa Dorada complex. The resort is nestled on a beautiful golden sand beach and offers a full-service spa and a wealth of activities appealing to a broad range of travelers from sport enthusiasts and adventure travelers to honeymooners and golfers.

Samaná - After traveling a couple of hours along the northern coast of the island, we arrive in the locality of Samaná where we will stroll through its fantastic bay, which, during the winter months, fills with mating humpback whales. You can live this beautiful experience between January and March. We'll also visit the little island, Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island). We will arrive by boat and enjoy a succulent lunch and white sand beaches where you will have an opportunity to rent snorkeling equipment to see the various reefs nearby.

City Tour Puerto Plata - Come visit Puerto Plata, the most important city on the north coast, and take a tour of the Brugal Rum factory, one of the islands largest. Also discover the Amber Museum where you can treat yourself to a piece of this precious stone. You will travel through the city streets and stroll along the Malecón, the seaside passageway where you'll enjoy the warmth the locals.

Paradise Island - On the way to Punta Russia we will pass through the northern mountains and the Cibao Valley where we will see tobacco plantations, fruit and rice. Then we will travel by boat passing through a mangrove forest, and finally we arrive at the incredible "Paradise Island" sand bar. You will have the opportunity to observe the most formidable and fantastic reef in the Caribbean, and plenty of time to enjoy the sun on the beach. Once back in Punta Russia, we will stop at a typical Dominican restaurant for lunch where you can taste Mamajuana, a traditional beverage.

Horseback Riding - Adventure through the mountains and the beach. We first ride out through an untouched mountain landscape to a lidded grotto. After a quick swim we will lead into the career by candlelight. Then will go to our cabin for a traditional lunch before our afternoon ride along the beach. Full day and half day available.

Santo Domingo City Tour - Come get to know the city of Santo Domingo where you will enjoy the Colonial area, learn its history visit the Columbus Fortress, the Cathedral, the Ruins of San Francisco, the Convent of Santo Domingo, the Ozama fortress, the National Aquarium and the Modelo market with typical artisans craftwork. You will visit the Dominican Ambar museum, the largest in the country, and a factory where the tobacco is transformed a right before you eyes into its final cigar form.

Santiago & Jarabacoa - Come with us to this excursion: we'll go to Santiago, the second biggest city in Dominican Republic. Then we'll go to Jarabacoa, a short horseback riding at Jimenoa waterfalls, a jeep safari in the beautiful countryside and after the lunch in a local ranch, a bit of shopping in a village.

Ocean World - Time to make all your dreams come true. Choose from a variety of interactive programs with dolphins, sea lions, sharks, stingrays&you can also swim in a tropical aquarium and visit Mother Nature's bird sanctuary.
