Viva Wyndham Resorts invites guests to explore the rich landscapes of the Dominican Republic, Bahamas and Mexico through its diversified off-property Excursions Program offered at all Viva Wyndham Resorts properties.

Each resort maintains an on-property tour desk where guests can sign-up for an assortment of off-property excursion programs. Although not included in the all-inclusive plan, off-property outings are encouraged so that guests can experience the countries where a Viva Wyndham Resorts property is situated.

Viva Wyndham Domenicus Palace Excursions

Situated on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace invites vacationers to experience the first country discovered by Christopher Columbus in the New World. From the capital city of Santo Domingo to the enchanting island of Saona, guests staying at these two Viva Wyndham properties will delight in all that the Dominican Republic has to offer.

Some of the off-property excursions include the following:

Altos and Rio de Chavon - Participants will journey to a town modeled after a civilization of the Middle Ages but built in the 1970's. Guests can visit international boutiques, a museum featuring indigenous artifacts and a design school. This half-day trip also takes guests to the Chavon River where guests will enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the area and sip a totally natural "Crazy Coconut" libation.

Saona Island - From our beach we will take you on a 30 minutes motorboat ride on the Caribbean Sea, passing the spectacular Eastern National Park. White sand and cool blue water awaits us, with breathtaking untouched nature. You'll have time to explore or just relax under the warm sun. Then we go for lunch in a typical Dominican Restaurant in the fishing village of Mano Juan, and enjoy the simple pleasures of village life. On the way back we stop at the Natural Pools for an opportunity to take pictures with the starfish. Bring a towel and sunscreen, and don't forget the camera!

Santo Domingo - Welcome to the city of the New World. The first city discovered by Christopher Columbus. During the first part of the tour, you will visit the National Aquarium and then the Colonial Zone with the "Alcazar de Columbus", the home of Columbus's son Diego. Tour the National Pantheon and enjoy a walk down the New Worlds first street. Then visit the first Cathedral of the Americas. Lunches are offered at an International Restaurant, and spend the rest of the afternoon shopping in the famous market place "Mercado Modelo". During the trip back to the hotel, you will pass by the "Faro a Colon" to take some pictures. Please note, knees and shoulders must be covered to enter the cathedral.

Dominibus: Love at First Sight - The Dominibus, a fun an interesting tour of the island, the Dominibus will give you the opportunity to travel from one village to another. Experience the true lifestyle of the Dominican people, and see first hand the layout of the countryside. Be ready to enjoy cacao, coffee, and tobacco in its natural state, see avocado, pineapple, coconut, banana, and papaya plantations. On our way back we visit Ponce de Leon House-Museum. With international music and our national cocktail "Cuba Libre" the Dominibus is a party of its own. Join us in celebrating the beauty of our island.

Sunset Catamaran - Enjoy the colors of a Caribbean Sunset while taking a pleasant and relaxing mini cruise that lasts 2 hours on board a catamaran. Music, rum and dancing together make this trip perfect.
