Vendors on some beaches even sell fish food, so you can attract more colorful fish. In fact, there are nearly two-dozen beaches on the island for you to experience. Try parasailing for an exciting way to see as much blue sky as you do turquoise water. Historic Charlotte Amalie is a quaint town and will give any visitor a glimpse into island life. Golf and great shopping are two more ways to enjoy the peacefulness of dry land. Points of Interest Beaches Around the Island There are more than 20 unique beaches with sugar-white sand on St. Thomas. With names like Coki Point, Sapphire Beach and Secret Harbor, they are all just waiting to be explored. The Butterfly Farm 340-715-3366 Within large enclosures see hundreds of exotic butterflies flying freely, with dozens of spectacular species from all over the world. It's just magical. Blackbeard's Castle 340-776-1234 We're the first to admit, it's not really a castle. But it is something special. Climb the historic tower built in the 1600s for amazing views of our island.
Charlotte Amalie Visit the capital of the US Virgin Islands. This charming and gracious town was named in 1692 for the queen of Denmark. Stroll through streets lined with fully restored, historic Danish buildings. Coral World Ocean Park 888-695-2073 This aquarium park features exhibits such as the Caribbean Reef Encounter, complete with anemones, sponges and conches. And the Deep Reef Tank with its predatory swimmers. The underwater exhibit boasts a glass tower built 30 feet down. Smaller pools house baby sharks and sea turtles, with a chance to pet them. Island Hopping Around the Virgin Islands The inter-island ferry is found just five minutes away in the charming town of Red Hook. St. John is only 15 minutes by ferry. Tortola is just 35 minutes via the ferry. St. Croix is a mere 90 minutes on a ferry that leaves from Charlotte Amalie. A gentle reminder: travel between the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands will require a valid passport. Red Hook Two miles away, this quaint town is a center of activity, overlooking Pillsbury Sound and neighboring St. John. More relaxed than other destinations, it offers boating, water sport activities, great dining, and fun nightlife. Remember, this town is also home of the inter-island ferry service to St. John, St. Croix and the British Virgin Islands. St. Peter Mountain Greathouse & Botanical Garden 340-774-4999 Nestled high in the volcanic peaks, this site was originally part of a 150-acre plantation. Today, it displays examples of West Indian architecture and furniture. The lush gardens and nature trail feature streaming waterfalls, tropical bird aviaries, fish ponds, and more. Saint Thomas Sky Ride 340-774-9809 Carrying 24 passengers, it whisks visitors 700 feet above the town of Charlotte Amalie for some of the most dramatic views around. Once at the pinnacle, guests can enjoy shopping and dining, watch a bird show, hike a nature trail, or hop on the Sky Jump trampoline. Tillet Gardens 340-775-1929 Developed as an artists' center by renowned silkscreen master Jim Tillett, this center features a gallery, local arts and crafts, a potter's studio, jewelers, candlemakers, painters, and a community theater. VI Christian Ministries Bowling Center 340-774-4904 This family-oriented center near our property features bowling, pool tables, arcade games, and refreshments.

A great opportunity for adventurous fisherman to catch sailfish, blue marlin, white marlin, wahoo, tuna, and more. It's nice to know some type of fish is running every month out of the year. Eco Tour Expeditions 877-845-2925 Kayak, hike and snorkel the picturesque Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary & Marine Preserve. Explore a deserted island, mangrove forests and snorkel clear, protected waters along the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas. Parasailing Single or two-person parasailing is a great way to go soaring 500 feet above the glittering Caribbean water. It's an experience that you'll never forget.
