Sabino Canyon Recreation Area

Home to remarkable desert landscapes, Sabino Canyon Recreational Area allows visitors to explore the desert paradise and natural wonders. Hop on a tram ride to discover the beauty of this unique Southwestern desert canyon or embark on winding hiking trails through the Sabino Creek and Canyon walls.

Tohono Chul Park
Connect with nature and experience Tucson's secret botanical garden-just one mile from Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa. Saguaro National Park
This Tucson area monument is a perfect place to see the saguaro cactus in bloom and to hike through scenic landscapes. Located about 22miles from the Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa, Saguaro National Park and the Saguaro Wilderness Area offer a unique way to spend the day, or a nice path for an afternoon stroll.

Points of Interest

Mount Lemmon
Located 45 minutes east of the resort, Mount Lemmon is the highest peak of the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains in the Coronado National Forest. It towers 9,157 feet tall, with a breathtaking drive to the top. Skiing and snowboarding are available during the winter months, and in warmer days, picnic areas and camping grounds fill up pretty fast.

Noao Kitt Peak
Kitt Peak is the world's largest astronomical facility, and is home to 24 optical and two radio telescopes, representing eight astronomical research institutions. Located approximately 90 minutes southwest of the resort, The Kitt Peak National Observatory Visitor Center offers guided tours to the public and is open daily. Stargazing, constellation naming and drifting into space is highly encouraged at this observatory.

Old Tucson Studios
Go back in time to an old frontier town in Arizona when men ruled the Old West. Old Tucson Studios has served as the setting for over 300 movies and television productions since Columbia Pictures built it in 1939. John Wayne westerns and modern classics such as The Three Amigos and Tombstone were filmed in the town of Old Tucson, just 30 miles southwest of Westward Look Resort. See how the West was won and enjoy the stagecoaches, pony and train rides, gift shops, western themed restaurants and daily gun fights that are fun for all ages.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
This unique all-encompassing Desert Museum is a combination zoo, aquarium, botanical garden and natural history museum, offering a complete inside look of life in the Sonoran Desert. Located just 22 miles southwest of the resort, The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum features exhibits that re-create the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert for a realistic approach to desert wildlife that you won't see anywhere else. With over 300 animal species and 1,200 kinds of plants, there are miles of territory to cover in this beautiful desert museum.

Mission San Xavier Del Bac
Known as the White Dove of the Desert, this highly acclaimed mission is one of the most beautiful mission church complexes in the Southwest. This large stucco church contains two bell towers and the front entrance is decorated with scrolled ornaments and sculptures of Tucson's past. Located approximately 35 minutes south of the Westward Look Wyndham, San Xavier Del Bac is still used as a church today, featuring 20minute lectures daily every hour, Mondays-Saturday's only.
