Her Majesty's Theatre
A true Victorian gem, Her Majesty's Theatre was built in 1886 and was originally the largest theatre in the Southern Hemisphere. Today, it hosts popular shows like Les Miserables and Grease the Musical, to name just two.
Oft purported as a place to sight a ghost or two, the Princess is also a prime spot for musical and dramatic theatre. With a history dating to the 1850's, this facility has hosted operas and popular Broadway musicals, even establishing The Phantom of the Opera as Victoria's longest running show.
Another popular place to see musical theatre is at Regent Theatre, where shows like Wicked, Annie and West Side Story have recently played. The exterior of the Regent is a prime example of Renaissance Revival architecture, while the interior features elaborate Rococo styling.
