Bellbrae Carriages
Bellbrae Carriages is a museum of early Australian horse-drawn carriages. It is located by the corner of Hendy Main Road and Brushfields Road, about two-and-a-half miles northwest of Torquay.
Narana Creations Aboriginal Craft and Cultural Interpretation Centre
This centre welcomes visitors to experience indigenous culture. An array of Aboriginal arts and crafts is on display in the gallery/retail area and staff can provide extensive knowledge about the history and culture. Experience a didgeridoo performance, hear stories about Dreamtime paintings, or take a leisurely stroll through the native garden. Entry is free and presentations can be booked at a moderate price.
Surf World Museum
Visitors can experience the spirit of surfing at Surf World, the world's largest surf and beach culture museum. It boasts an incredible collection of surf memorabilia and artifacts, fascinating displays, temporary exhibitions and is the home of the Australian Surfing Hall of Fame. Celebrate Australia's love of the ocean while learning how surfing has changed around the world.
Bells Beach
Home to the Rip Curl Pro Surfing Competition, Bells Beach is a world famous natural beach amphitheater framed by dramatic cliffs. It is a popular spot for sightseeing, providing great vantage points of the surf along the cliff. For surfers, Bells Beach is really for the experienced and caution should be exercised. The beach is an exposed reef and point break with excellent right hand breaks at their best during fall and winter.
Great Ocean Walk
Victoria's most iconic walk stretches over 62 miles from Apollo Bay to the Twelve Apostles. Experience deserted beaches, magnificent cliffs and dense forests with native flora and fauna. It's easy to do day walks or stay overnight at designated camping spots provided by Parks Victoria.
The Great Ocean Road
The 177-mile drive from Torquay to Warrnambool is one of the world's most spectacular coastal drives. Scenery along the way includes cool climate rainforests, seaside beach villages and spectacular rock formations and highlights include the Twelve Apostles, Lord Ard Gorge and the Otway Ranges.
The Twelve Apostles
Located a scenic two-and-half-hour drive from Torquay, limestone formations stand defiant against the wild and surging Southern Ocean. Some 70 meters high, these majestic natural structures are simply spectacular. Marvel at the awe-inspiring forces of nature that created the famous Twelve Apostles and carved the southern coastline.
Cowrie Community Market
There are approximately 100 stalls selling handmade items, homemade produce, and arts and crafts at the Cowrie Community Market, which overlooks Torquay's main beach. Kids will love the free jumping castle and there are local musicians and artists.
Surf City Factory Outlets
Shoppers can shop 'til they drop and stock up on surf apparel at the Surf City Factory Outlets located on the Surf Coast Highway. Top surf brands including Quicksilver, Rip Curl, Roxy, Oakley, Rojo and more can be found here.
Torquay Central
Located on Bristol Road, Torquay Central is home to more than 30 stores, including Australia's leading fashion brands and homewares stores.
Golf
Golfers will delight in the fact that there are two golf courses within a six-minute drive of the resort. Choose from a picturesque 18-hole, par 66 golf course and an 18-hole championship golf course.
Learn to Surf
There are a number of local surf schools offering a great variety of learn to surf classes, kayak and stand-up paddle boarding activities, ocean sport equipment and wetsuit hire. The Reception team is happy to recommend a local surf school or book a lesson for guests at Wyndham Resort Torquay.
