“Rocky Start”

When I first called to reserve my room I was told they needed a card number to reserve the room. I did not have my business card at that time and I asked to use my personal credit card, but told them that I did not want the charge on my card. The person on the phone said it would not be charged they just needed one to hold the room. I was very clear with my request and was told that it was ok to bring a business card (I just needed to fill out a form). The next morning the room was charged to my personal card. When I called to have this changed they would not hold the room for the original rate because I did not have the company card at that time. The Manager I spoke with acted like I had made the misktake. I specifically asked that it not be charged and they said it wouldn't. They charged my card but wouldn't hold my room at the agreed upon rate unless I gave them the card number. The whole situation was very off putting and I almost changed my plans. After arriving at the hotel I was glad I didn't change hotels. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I really enjoyed my room and had no issues at all with my stay. I think sometimes people forget that just because they are on the phone and can't see you that they can treat you differently. I hope they work on their telephone customer service because you almost lost a customer.
