“When I checked in, the front desk employee was very...”

When I checked in, the front desk employee was very pleasant, but it took him a very long time to get me into a room. I had reserved a king executive room but all they had left were doubles. After a long time, he asked me if I had a "floor preference". I said no, thinking that was somewhat of an odd question. I didn't realize this hotel had rooms on the first floor. When I walked away with my key, I saw the nubmer he had written on the envelope was on the first floor. I didn't want to complain, but I was very worried that the first floor would be noisy or feel unsafe. I walked all the way down a very long hallway carrying my bags, only to find that my room was not down that hallway. I walked all the way back and stood in the lobby looking around trying to figure out where my room would be. The front desk employee then noticed me and called out directions. I wish he had just told me which way to go from the beginning. When I arrived in my room, I was a bit dissapointed. There were stains on the carpet, the room smelled very musty, and the bathroom tub and toilet were very old and stained. I had planned to eat at the hotel, but decided I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, so went out to dinner. That night, I fell asleep and was woken up around midnight by an incessant car alarm going off in the hotel parking lot outside my room. I called the front desk and they said there wasn't anything they could do about it. I thought they could try a little harder to find the owner of the car...it wouldn't be out of the question to have the plates run to get the name of the person or some clue to direct them to the guest the car belonged to. Another nice option I thought would have been for them to offer me a new room, farther away from the noisy parking lot, so I could sleep. Instead, I tossed and turned, sleeping on and off all night long. I woke up at 4am and the alarm was still going off. It was an extremely uncomfortable stay.
