“Room was good... Everything else was poor”

  , Pensacola
Ive stayed at this particular property several times over the past several years and have grown loyal based on my previous experience. My latest trip was disappointing. I will probably not come back. The issue began with expecting the level of service I previously received. When I booked the room the website significantly understated the construction that was taking place. I waited 34 minutes in the registration line. When I made it to check in, the incorrect room type was reserved. I showed the agent my registration confirmation for a suite with double beds + bunk beds. The room held for me was a suite with a single king. The agent argued that the reservation was for the suite only and that Wyndham could put me in a suite with either a king or two double bed. I noted that the room selection on the Wyndham website had the suite with double beds and with a king as separate options and that my reservations were for a suite with double beds. The reservation agent still tried to put me in the suite with a king. I told the agent that I have three teenage boys with me and that I would need the suite with the double beds. She politely agreed and stated she would have to bump someone else from there reservation to meet my needs. Slightly irritated I said "perfect...thanks.". This process took an additional 20 minutes. I had purchased the breakfast package. The breakfast vouchers were not ready. The registration agent said they would be delivered to my room. They were not. The following morning I went back to registration and waited an additional 20 minutes while they were created. The registration agent stated that the passes were not generated because I made a same day reservation. To me that had nothing to do with following through on the commitment to have the vouchers delivered to my room.I was told that wifi would be free since I signed up for the Wyndham loyalty program, but was charged. In addition, the common pathways throughout the property were dirty. To me the axiom of the issue was with the temporary procedures put into place while construction of the properties front end business center were being constructed. There seems to be significant variability in the temporary procedures implemented. On the positive side, the room was great. However, I probably won't be back.
