“Second Rate Stay”

My experience was poor from the start, when my cab from the airport could not find the new front entrance to the hotel due to poor signage. The poor signage was a theme that carried over to the entire property. Service overall was good, excepting at the poolside restaurant, where there appeared to be inadequate wait staff. The steak salad I ordered was served without accompanying bread or dinner rolls, which I think should be expected. Lack of additional meal venues onsite was a negative - going offsite for lunch required 90 minutes or more, which was not factored into our conference schedule. Room accommodations were only adequate - despite the recent renovation, room appeared "tired". Closet rod fixture was bent; patio sliding glass door appeared uncleaned; easy chair wasn't, single-serving coffee maker leaked all over the desk Lack of central heating/AC and shared air returns between adjacent bathrooms contributed to a high noise level. Room cleaning crew also appeared understaffed, as cleaning took over-long, daily and at room change-over - had to wait over 2-1/2 hours for room to be ready on check-in, and then had to accept a room with 2 beds when I reserved a king. Had to request bottled water and coffee grounds in room, when those were supposed to be provided.
