“I miss the old Marriott”

I have stayed at this property in 2010, 2011 and now 2013. In missing the 2012 season I also missed the change to this being a Wyndham. As long as this is a Wyndham property, I will not return. I am platinum elite with Marriott and there's a reason I continue to stick with Marriot. The reason I chose this property is because of the boat access to Shell Island. In speaking with the boat captain I shared my displeasure with the property now and he stated that multiple guests have had the same complaint. I should've know this property was going to be an issue at booking. I did the advance pay because it was less expensive and I knew, or thought I knew, that I wanted this property because of Shell Island. A few days later I noticed the property was $50 per night less than what I paid for the same room. I called customer service and they would do nothing because I had done advanced pay.The staff upon arrival was not friendly and the doorman was texting on his phone while I opened the door myself. I'm no highbrow but if you have a doorman then he should be opening doors. The rooms all had wet paint signs on the doors and there was a dingy spell in the hallways. The room service salad and soup was small for the $21 paid for it.What's shocking to me is this property has the same ownership as the Marriott but I guess when they switched to a Wyndham property they felt the need to provide a lesser experience. I won't be returning with my family nor recommending the property until it is a Marriott again.I cannot remember the quality of the Internet during my stay last time but this place only has wired connections in the rooms. What is this? The 1990's?.
