“My Review”; Feb 28, 2013 Ross David C, Pickerington, Ohio, Usa; My wife had won a cruise (our first ever in 33 years of marriage) and she was insistent on taking me along despite my inability to walk and the need for the use of a wheelchair which I don't own. Just before leaving for the trip, we found out that the travel agent had arranged a 5pm flight back to our home town and that we would be leaving the ship at 8am that morning. That gave us eight hours of doing nothing but lugging luggage around, and I am unable to help. I would be without a wheelchair and I can hardly walk from one room to the other without experiencing a great amount of pain.The thought of my wife (who is nearly 62 and having problems of her own) having to struggle with me (no wheelchair) and the luggage (two carry-ons and four larger bags) for eight hours in Tampa, was very stressful and nearly ruined our vacation. The thought of her taking on that endeavor was very scary made me feel sick to my stomach.Thankfully, two or three nights before we were scheduled to leave, my wife called the hotel where we were staying to see what could be arranged. On this call, she talked to Julie Bateman, the reservationist. Julie was WONDERFUL. She told my wife that she would make sure that we were shuttled from the ship upon arrival to the hotel, were they would check in our luggage for storage. She then told her that they would arrange to shuttle us anywhere we wanted so that we could shop or dine, have us back in time to get our luggage and the shuttle us to the airport to catch our flight out. Julie calmed our fears of being stranded in an area that we knew nothing about and eliminated any need for us to worry while we were out to sea. She made our vacation enjoyable.Then, Julie not only did what she had promised, but to our pleasure, she continually checked on us to see that we were alright. I without hesitation give Julie the credit for making our vacation a success. The travel agent was absolutely useless, but Julie gave us peace of mind about going.I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Tampa. The shuttle drivers, Pablo and Daniel, were very pleasant and helpful. They made sure that our luggage was where we wanted it to be at the time that we needed it to be there. Thank you to all of the personnel at the Wyndham for making our vacation one to remember.
