Fùrstenhof
Built in 1512, this historic Gothic house was once the seat of the dukes of Mechlenburg. The "new house" was erected roughly forty years later in the Italian Renaissance style with features like terra cotta and limestone. Visitors can admire the house's well-manicured grounds, or tour the rooms of this three-story Wismar landmark.

Town Hall
At the neo-classic Town Hall basement, located near the Market Place, history buffs can catch the permanent exhibition "Wismar - Pictures of a City." The film depicts the history and heritage of this charming Hanseatic League city and its development as a port town. The Wismar exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wismar Market Place
Guests will discover one of the largest squares in Northern Germany at the Wismar Market Place. Surrounding the square are stunning 14th-century North German Gothic, and 19th-century Romanesque and Art Nouveau buildings. The square's main attraction is the Town Hall, a 19th-century neo-classic building. Guests can also spot the Wasserkunst, a wrought-iron fountain that was imported from Holland.

St. Mary's Church
Discover the 262-foot (70 meter) church tower of St. Mary's, a former 13th-century Brick Gothic church that eventually suffered heavy damage during WWII. The church was further destroyed in 1960, but the tower still remains. At the site, visitors can learn how the historic church was built by catching a showing of a 3D documentary.

The Old Harbor
The beautiful Wismar Bay is dotted with picturesque fishing boats, and still retains its charm as a historic port city that was once a member of the Hanseatic League.
