Over all- the stay was nice. We booked our stay at the Blake because with our insurance we receive 20% off. The hotel was nice, very basic. (No pool or hot tub or knowledgeable room service- it states there is room service available, but no menus or direction was found on what was available) The rooms were quite spacious... not so crowded like hotels we have stayed in before. There was thick dust on the alarm clock and other small locations in our room, but nothing major as far as cleanliness goes. We did experience one frustration- the toilet in our room ran continuously where we needed maintenance to come and fix it (within 15 minutes of arrival). It did the same issue the following night and when I notified the front desk as we were leaving for dinner... we returned to our hotel around midnight to the issue still not being fixed. (Approx 3 hours later). I was a bit tired and upset. Since maintenance had left for the night... they were quick to move us to an upgraded room with a beautiful view of Chicago. It wasn't a joy to pack up and switch rooms that late in the evening but it did solve the issue. We also booked our next stay upon check out. Yes- we had a poor experience but the customer service we received was nice and the hotel itself was beautifully decorated. Sure there are nicer hotels we have stayed at but the price point (with or without our discount) was just right. We did enjoy our stay entirely. « less
