“Beautiful Hotel - A Bit Noisy, Though”

  , Miami
Though I had trouble finding the hotel (When I booked back in January it was still called Hotel 71 - when I arrived, it was called Wyndham Grand), once inside I found it to be very nice. My room was a double and had plenty of space, a separate couch and ottoman, a desk, and a fridge. The bathroom was very spacious (thought he light switch is very low on the wall!). The carpet was very nice in the room, though there was something hard under one part of the carpet, and a small dip in another spot. Their was one issue I had with the room was the odd smell coming from the dresser and closet. Anything I put into either space came out smelling very odd. The biggest issue with the room was the noise. You could hear anything and everything going on in the hallway and hear anything going on in the next room. You could also hear the water if it was turned on above you or next door, and even when you turned the water on in your own bathroom, you could hear how loud the pipes were. Also, on Monday there was some sort of construction going on and any hope of getting in a nap was completely lost. Also, the fitness center is a bit small for a location this size. There were never enough machines in the early morning. The good news? You are right across from the river and if its not raining or too hot, you can take a run there. One final issue - I went to check out early in the morning because I had to grab an early flight. When I got to the desk the woman there (though very nice) did not know how to split the bill so that I could pay half and leave my roommate with the other half. After almost 10 minutes she finally had to call someone to come help. Then I had to wait another 10 minutes while the other woman walked her through what sounded like a ridiculously complicated process of splitting a bill. I know hotels have been doing this for year - you may want to look at your system if it takes that long to do something that should be easy. I almost missed my train to the airport due to the twenty minute check out process.
