“Recent Stay- Not satisfied!”

I recently stayed here for a wedding and did not have the most pleasant experience. Upon checking in- I had to take the very SLOW and ONLY elevator to the top floor (7th). When I enter the room- it is a dirty room! Towels all over the floor, bed is undone, garbage everywhere. I then had to leave my bags with my boyfriend since the room was all the way opposite the slow elevator and I needed to literally run to quickly get this resolved. ( we had one hour till the wedding reception and needed to get in our room ASAP to get ready and try to make it to the shuttle). Once I finally made it to the desk- the front desk lady seemed barely apologetic and simply gave me a new room (that in her words was closer to elevator).. Nope it was still on the 7th floor and actually farther from the elevator. She made no attempt to make the situation better. She actually never even gave me our included vouchers for breakfast the next day that were part of our stay. She didn't mention any of it. It just was not a pleasant experience. The room was spacious but dingy and smelled funny, the lighting was horrible. Very dim and the lights had that buzzing noise which was just not pleasant. The air conditioner might not be clean because I woke up with a stuffy nose and sort throat. Also- the concierge had little knowledge about the shuttle service to the reception hall. The same lady told me there was only one shuttle so since we missed it ( mainly because of the 20+ minute delay in our room fiasco) we were out of luck. Part of the reason we decided to stay in a hotel (we live in CHicago) was to use the shuttle service and not have to worry about drinking and driving after the wedding. Luckily, me and my boyfriend decided to go to the lobby and talk to the shuttle driver ourselves since the concierge lady was obviously no help. The shuttle driver gladly took us to reception without a problem. He also gave us his card and told us to call when we were ready. Honestly, he was the only pleasant person I encountered during my stay! I was just really unsatisfied and would definitely not stay here again.
