“poor service”

At check-in, upon waiting several minutes for a person to come to the desk I was not greeted with a hello, or even a "welcome". Instead, the front desk clerk asked "Do you have a reservation"? When I responded yes, he stated, " I need your drivers license and credit card". He then proceeded to check me in. He did not even give me my room number with the key or directions to get to my room, just handed them to me. In my opinion, this service was distasteful and rude after traveling 16 hours to reach my destination in Clearwater, Florida. I did complain the following morning and arranged for the duration of my vacation to be cancelled ( I was able to obtain a room in another hotel). During my brief stay we went to the Starbucks located in the lobby. We asked if it was open (it was). When we ordered coffee, we were told they didn't have any. She could make the coffee we ordered with hotel coffee, but if we wanted Starbucks coffee, it would be "a while". All, in all I was very disappointed with the customer service at this hotel, and frankly, found the staff rude with the exception of the waiter in the restaurant. For me impressions can be made or broken within the first few minutes of interaction. I had booked two separate reservations at this hotel (one through expedia, one through the hotel directly) because we arrived in Florida two days earlier than anticipated. Thankfully, I was able to find another hotel who welcomed us, and felt like they actually wanted us to be there. I will never book a Wyndham hotel again. When I spoke with the front desk in the morning, they did nothing to ease my disappointment with the clerk on arrival to this hotel. This was a very discouraging stay at this property.
