“Very nice hotel with large suites, but there were a couple issues”

Every year our work department holds a get-together in downtown Cleveland. In full disclosure, as employees of our company we received a rather substantial discount for our stay there. The building is fantastic, with an immaculately clean lobby, nice lounge, and polite staff. The rooms themselves (we were in suites) were massive and had two flat panel TVs. It's located at Playhouse Square and only a short walk away from many downtown attractions, including the Horseshoe Casino and East 4th street.Overall, we were quite pleased with our stay. However, and especially if we had paid full price for our rooms, we had a few disappointments:- The pool and hot tub were closed due to 'Hurricane Sandy'. Now, I understand Ohio had widespread power outages, winds and some flooding due to the storm but how did that break the pool and hot tub. A more complete explanation would have been preferable. - The parking lot location. We paid $12 for parking thinking they had a parking garage on-site or adjacent to the hotel. That was not the case. Turns out they have a few parking spots in a surface lot several blocks away. So we had to carry our luggage all the way back to our cars when we checked out. This should have been disclosed ahead of us paying, as we would have found a better deal closer. - The pillows in our King size bead looked like accent or children's pillows. Why we had small square pillows in a large King bed baffled us.- The front desk staff, though nice, was overwhelmed. Though they had three front desk PC's, some guests were being helped by two staffers together rather than helping the next person in line. When we called to checkout the phone just rang continuously for about 30 seconds, until we gave up and waited in line at the front desk.- Wifi service was offered in two tiers. First, a severely speed-limited tier was free. The second, standard broadband tier was available for a fee. If I had paid $150+ for a suite at a nice downtown hotel I would have been severely disappointed with only substandard wifi service being included. This is something poor motels have in 2012. Again, given the same circumstances (price, location) we would stay here again but would not park here and would bring our own pillows. Hopefully by then they will have recovered their pool from the hurricane.
