“Poor Experience”

I'd like to premise this with the fact that I have never given any hotel a review such as this. I usually just make due but this time I can not go away silent. I am not one of those awful people who just complains to get something free but at the same time, I do believe that my business is valuable and I should be treated as such. In a single statement, the Hotel was not clean. The Hallways were littered with garbage. Not just a piece of paper here or there but food items that we passed more than once on the same hall. The rooms smelled of mold. Not only did they smell of it but it was visible in the room. There was a large mildew stain in front of the a/c output. This should really be addressed. Someone could have a fatal allergy to such. The fitness center was hot. I prefer to work up my own sweat but I started sweating as soon as I walked in the door. As for the reservation, I made mine on-line, I do not recall a disclaimer that a credit card would be required to hold money for possible incidentals. I had experienced this somewhere else and was glad that I had it, but there were others in my group that were not as flexible. In addition, I reserved a refrigerator but don't recall seeing that even though you reserve a refrigerator at the time of reservation, it is not guaranteed because they are issued on a first come first serve basis. If this was included somewhere in the "fine print", it needs to be more prevelant. Consider a pop-up statement when you make that selection. Instead we had to use a trash can and constatntly keep refilling it with ice to keep our cold items cold all weekend. If it had not been for the fact that the conference I was attending was being held there and the group I traveled with was staying there as well, I would have sought other accommodations. Upon checking in, there was, what I was told, just one bellman with one cart! There were 8 people with luggage in my vehicle alone. Not even taking into consideration all the other guests that were arriving at the same time. There were two large gatherings being held simultaneously so you can check the registrations, there were a lot of people with a lot of luggage. Overall, it was not a good experience. I will not be visiting this hotel again unless I hear of massive renovations and am able to tour prior to making a reservation.
