“Slightly on the disappointing end”

We started our stay off with being disappointed in the quality of the room for what the prices were, we felt as though we could have stayed at a Motel 6. There was a funky/ musty odor to the room and we were also disappointed by the small television. Upon entering the bathroom, there was a used wash cloth hanging over the shower rod. THe shower did have great water pressure, but the sink was strange and hot water took an amount of time to kick in. Apparently we are spoiled at home with our 46" television. On our way to dinner that evening, we were stuck in the elevator for approximately 10 mins. Luckily, we were on the first floor and there was a college football team waiting to go up and was able to help my significant other pry open the doors. Upon leaving the elevator we informed the front desk that we had been ringing the alarm and he stated he was sorry, that he didn't hear it, and he would get his mechanic to fix it. After the scare from the elevator, we were then informed that using the elevators would be the only way to get to our room and that the only stairs they had were emergency exits to the outside of the building. We went to the bar and grill at the hotel and waited quite awhile on one drink and decided to tab out and eat elsewhere for the evening. We did order a midnight snack through room service and the service was prompt and the food was good. The next morning I went down to the breakfast restaurant to order some breakfast to bring back to our room to surprise him with breakfast in bed. Unfortunately that never happened due to myself deciding that waiting 45 minutes for some eggs, pancakes and hash browns was excessive and we once again went to eat elsewhere. All in all, we had to remain positive and remind ourselves that it was a bed to sleep in and we made the best of our situation.
