“Fantastic staycation !”

  , Maryland
We live an hour from this hotel, but i booked it for 2 nights in December ( right after Christmas) because I wanted something easy . I really did not expect the hotel to be as gorgeous and elegant as it was. Impeccable really. My husband says that he would recommend it highly to anyone, which is as effusive as he gets ! We had breakfast at the 1863 restaurant there and really enjoyed the beautiful dining room with real silver, white tablecloths etc. Staff were uniformly friendly, competent, and gracious. The pool was warm and large, and the hot tub was a large rectangular and beautifully tiled spa right next to the pool. We purchased discount tickets for the movie theatre just steps away from the hotel. It too was state of the art. there were plenty of families at the hotel, and some with dogs, and yet the place felt extremely serene and was very quiet. Probably good sound proofing ! We enjoyed the proximity to apple country and the Adams county wineries ( don't miss the Hauser winery !), downtown Gettysburg, and in the other direction we took a short drive to the quaint town of New Oxford. If you like antiquing this is a good place to go. There is a fabulous coffee shop/ bakery/ restaurant on the square if you are looking to just relax. It is called the New Oxford Coffee Company and visitor's center, I also love the main square in Gettysburg, which is just a short drive from the hotel. Codori's and the art store/gallery around the corner ( 1863 )are special . I did not take pictures of the hotel but it was very elegant and felt high end. I would recommend it highly to anyone.
