“Expected Better”

Being a born and raised Pittsburgher I remember staying at this hotel back when it was a Hilton. I always had great experiences with it and never a complaint. My most recent trip back and staying what is now the Wyndham was less than pleasant.My trip was to visit my little brother who is finishing his first year at Pitt and to introduce the girlfriend to the family. Upon booking the reservations, I asked for a few bottles of wine to be in the room at time of check in. They were not. However, they had no problem still billing me for it.The list of complaints continues from here...- Parking! Parking is the worst here and the valet is always full surprisingly. The lots the front desk direct you to either don't exist, are full, or are outrageously expensive. Thankfully growing up and going to school at Pitt I was able to navigate myself around and find cheap close parking. - Room service failed to come through and clean the room the next morning and replace the towels. When asking politely in the hall for some new towels and a few bottles of water, the staff rudely responded with they have already been placed in my room seeing as they just cleaned it. Once again, my room was not visited by housekeeping that morning.- One of the staff members took a personal call a few rooms down from mine and decided to take unprofessionalism to a whole new level by have a 30 minute conversation full of screaming and vulgarities to whomever she was speaking with. Upon calling the front desk to report this, seeing as families were on my floor, this matter went unattended.- The bottles of wine I ordered for check in upon inquiring about them at the front desk were never placed, and like I said before, they still felt the need to charge me. All in all, it was a very unpleasant experience. However, the hotel is very clean and the beds are nice and comfortable. Plus, you can not beat the location. PNC Park and Heinz Field are a 15 minute walk from the hotel. However, needless to say I will not be staying at this hotel again.
