“Great location & staff - housekeeping a little late.”

We celebrated my wife's birthday with a 3 night stay at Wyndham Bay Point. We arrived late and were met by a very personable desk clerk who promptly checked us in and explained the extra perks included with our stay that we were not event aware of - $5 off at the restaurant and a free full breakfast buffet for two each morning. The room was clean although a little dated with small details overlooked when attempts had been made to "bandaid" some of the age issues. The buffet was very good each morning although I wish they had varied it a little more each day. The staff at the restaurant was very welcomimg and friendly, seeing to our every request. The sushi at the Kingfish restaurant was very good and the atmosphere very inviting. We made new friends around the fire place in the lobby one night and enjoyed some great conversation - although they did run out of wood one night and had none the following day. My only real dilema with Bay Point was housekeeping. They did not clean our room until around 5:00 each afternoon and that was cumbersome. On the last night we stayed, housekeeping came to the door and I told the maid that we only needed a couple of towels and to leave them at the door. She ackowledged but never left any towels. It would be nice to have the rooms done earlier, especially since the hotel had a very low occupancy during this time. I think there were only three rooms used out of our whole Augusta National building. The other issue I had was no internet connection in the room. I never could get the hardwire DSL to work and the only wi-fi was in the lobby - it was slow. Otherwise, a great stay and I recommend the hotel, restaurant and hotel staff.
