“Overall excellent, but a few small over-sights.”

Generally, the hotel was excellent, but there were a few small issues. The courtyard design of the building is neat, the rooms were clean and attractive. The bed was comfy, there were an abundance of pillows, & the duvet/bedspread was pristine (which is reassuring). The bathroom was extra nice--the water pressure was great, the shower head had pressure/spray options (good options, I only missed the hand-held one at home a little bit), and the towels were thick and soft & plentiful. However, there was no exhaust vent in the bathroom so humidity accumulated in the entire suite (water beaded up on the windows, fire sprinkler-heads showed peeling paint - indicating this is a persistent issue, and there was a slight musty smell in the room). The breakfast buffett was middling, and overpriced. I loved that there was bacon, sausage & scrambled eggs but the rest of the offerings were either standard or sub-standard. The fried potatoes on morning one (clearly leftovers - dried up & over-spiced) were shockingly awful and morning two's tater tots were pre-made (I like tater-tots, but you can't reasonably charge that much unless you're providing fresh food, and fresh hash browns aren't that hard). The biscuits & gravy were good, but the french toast was thin & limp. The servers were solicitous, but if I'm doing a buffet, I'd prefer to get my own coffee as well.There were no food vending machines and the gift shop (with snacks) was closed the entire time of my visit. The gym was small (normal size for a hotel) and the pool was closed (for a month?!). It was easy to get disoriented coming out of the elevators; it would be nice if the hotel would color code the carpets or something obvious. I wanted to make a local call, but there was nothing posted by the phone to indicate whether the call would be free or show up on my bill, so I didn't use the hotel phone.
