“Construction, Poor Guest Services”

I booked directly through Wyndham's website and was shocked that MAJOR (several whole floors) of construction were UNdisclosed. Hallways were filthy and it seemed that no one could at least dust railings at the end of the day. My signature in the dust remained untouched for three days before they wiped only the section that I wrote in the dust on. Construction began at 7AM and lasted into the evening. There were two power outages during our stay which we were told were "not related to the renovations" but for whatever reason, only the hotel was effected and the second outage only odd parts of the hotel lost power (which I cannot yet fathom how their power grid is then laid out). The front desk staff was rude about the situation and treated it as if nothing was wrong. Upon checkout the manager just did not care that a guest was unsatisfied and then called me a liar about the construction disclosure but refused to allow me show him my reservation process (which I did again the morning of check out to see if I had in fact miss it, which I did not). I would not recommend this hotel and doubt any future stays if this is how the company allows guests to be treated. I think staff should be reminded that they are in the hospitality industry, which is build on customer trust and satisfaction. In addition, I flew in only to land at DFW to a voicemail that said that they room that I booked online was no longer available (a two double) and to call them to see what was more important, two beds or the style room. When we got to the hotel, we were give a single king bed and a couch, which had a pullout, but no pillows, sheets or blankets to go with it. Room amenities did not meet what was described upon my reservation. My family and I had planned to use the fridge and microwave during our stay to help reduct food expenses on our trip. No microwave was in the room anymore. Talk about a bait and switch experience with this hotel and the headache of construction.
