“Not best option for park and cruise for us!”

We choose this hotel primarily for the park and cruise option. It was the only hotel left on the island that offered it and other people recommended it. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful but there was 4 of us in a king room and the room was tiny. Smaller then a cruise ship stateroom. Understandably though as this is a historic hotel. The grounds are wonderful. Pool is a little crowded in a very small and tight spot but nice. Like I said our sole purpose of booking this hotel was the convenience of park and cruise. Here you do have to pay for it unlike other high dollar hotels on the island so I expected the same service if not better service as the other high dollar hotels. We were very disappointed that we were forced to drag all our luggage after the cruise through the whole hotel as we were parked in the back parking lot and they refused to drop us off there. We had 2 young children and 5 bags. Going through the hotel also meant down several stairs as there was no elevator or ramp out the back door. We asked the driver if they would take us to the back and they refused saying they had to bring us to the front. It was a holiday weekend and there was a huge line of cars and no one moving. We were stuck sitting on the shuttle for over 30 minutes. I am not a hard to please person. I normally stay at 2 or 3 star hotels so I am not just being a snob. When you get to your car service, like the other high dollar hotels on the island, after a long trip and even longer morning that means the world. The sad thing was after we got all our stuff drug back there, down the stairs, across the street, and through the locked gate the shuttle pulled in and parked a few spots away from us. If I was staying at the hotel after great but we weren't. The other hotels drop guests off at their cars first and then for the ones wanting to stay at the hotel they bring them to the hotel after. Seems logical. Next time if we can't find a room at the other hotel we will just park at the pier and pay and have my husband pick us up curb side.
