“Hotel Needs Renovation”

  , Ann Arbor
You definitely get what you pay for. I got a special deal on my room and I thought that it would be OK because it was a Wyndam hotel. I was wrong.1)There was a broken lamp on the desk with something black splattered over the shade. There was a large crack on the bathroom floor. We had a view of the air conditioning unit with no sunlight and a humming all the time. The room was drafty, so we had to put the heater on most of the night. The bed was not comfortable, so I never really slept that well. The room was really run-down. 2) The maid was inconsistent. One night we only had one bar of soap. The next night we only had one hand towel. The good news is that it seemed to get better each night we were there.3) The wireless internet was also inconsistent and whenever we tried to call to the front desk, the phone was busy. 4) When we needed to leave and go to the airport, the front desk offered to call a cab. They told us that it would 5-10 minutes. Twenty minutes later we were still waiting. When I told a man at the front desk who seemed like the manager that we were going to just go get a cab on the street, he became defensive and rude. He told us that the cab was on the way, but we had been waiting long enough. After 25 minutes of waiting,we walked outside to catch another cab and the cab they called finally showed up. After seeing the rooms of my other friends at the conference, I wished that we had stayed somewhere else. The only thing that made us put up with all of this was that it was the cheapest place to stay in the area. You definitely get what you pay for. If you can afford it, stay someplace nicer.
