“staff needs training in customer service”

My trip was supposed to be from Thur-Sun but due the airline having maintenance issues, the flight was postponed to Friday. I then arranged to have the trip changed to Fri-Tue instead in order to get more time. Upon my arrival, I was told that an extra day was charged to my credit card. And they refused to reverse the charges after a lengthy discussion with the manager on duty. The very first night of my stay, I realised that the bathroom was flooding. I complained about this and a guy came with a plunger to clear it. Sat I realised that the problem still exists. I complained again and nothing was done. Sunday morning I was very angry and demanded to be moved to another room. They responded by sending maintenance again with a plunger which did not solve the problem. By this time I was so angry I was demanding my money back so that I can check into another hotel. Then finally I was moved to another room. The manager then told me that she will refund my HALF of the money they charged for the extra day. Its $150US per night. I responded by saying that I deserved a full refund for that day because it was not my fault that the flight was cancelled.This is a relatively new hotel and I really expected better service from the staff. If I was moved from the time they realised there was plumbing issues, I would have been satisfied. I felt cheated because of the way they handled the flight cancellation and went ahead and charged me for a night I did not use. Its totally UNFAIR!In conclusion, the hotel is located right in the city, the breakfast was limited and the pool is very small. My greatest disappointment was the horrible service.
