“Less impressed than previous stay”

Hi, Your hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff is courteous, but couldn't locate my Wyndam rewards #. I brought my husband and two kids (5 and 7) and they enjoyed the beautiful pool a lot. My daughter even thought that we were staying in George Washington's House. However, at least two of the bath towels in our room were old and had jagged edges, something I haven't seen even in less expensive hotel chains. Also, there was a draft on the bed from the heating ventilation system, so my husband was a bit upset because no matter what bed we used, we couldn't avoid the draft. There needs to be a plastic diverter so the air is forced down instead of across the room to your face. Also, we were a bit underwhelmed by the attention to detail in the again beautiful bar. The bartender was nice but overwhelmed. Even though we tried to order Macaroni and Butter for my girl, the Chef said, "I ain't cookin no pasta at this time of night. That takes 12 minutes." So, we were prodded into ordering mac and cheese, which he had home made that day--but the child suffers from only liking processed mac and cheese. I am tempted to come to the Thanksgiving Day Meal, because we ordered a delicious steak and it had some interesting root vegetables, like a turnip and my boy enjoyed the nice hamburger, as well. We never received the salad that was supposed to go with the steak but didn't bother to say anything since the bartender said she had to walk up and down the stairs, every time we asked for something--we felt sorry for her. In any case, while I was at my conference the next day, my husband took the kids for hamburgers at the magnificent bar, and this timed received a salad but it was wilted. So, my husband liked the hamburgers and steaks, but thinks more attention needs to be paid to the salads. Also, it would be nice to see newer towels and less drafty baths. We almost had to ask for a space heater to get in the shower in the a.m. Instead, we tore sheets out of a magazine and placed them over the vents to warm up the bathroom.Thank you for your interest.
