Buddy System - Keep in Touch While Traveling
It's a good idea to email your upcoming travel itineray to a friend or relative (who cares about your whereabouts) so someone always knows where you'll be. And of course sending an e-mail from the road to key people in your work and personal life informed and you "in the loop" is a good idea.
Airport Safety
When traveling by air, I put my boarding pass and photo ID in a clear plastic pouch worn around my neck. When going through airport security, it's readily available and I don't misplace it while struggling with a computer, etc. - b.l.g.
Airport - Security
When flying, wear an inexpensive, plastic watch. Metal jewelry and watches will set off the alarm at security checks and now that the security screen devices have been set to their ultra-sensitive settings, even watches with minimal bits of metal - casing, crowns and strap buckles are triggering the alarm.
Airport - Security Checks
While traveling, consider wearing a brassiere that does not have an underwire. Unfortunately, the wire will set the alarm off at airport security checkpoints.
Airport Safety - Security Checks
When traveling, wear shoes that are unlikely to set off the metal detector in an airport. Avoid boots. Instead wear running shoes, rubber sole shoes or loafers. If you wear boots, pass them through the scanner with the rest of your belongings. Otherwise, be prepared for a delay and annoying looks from other passengers.
